Do You Suffer From Any of These Conditions?
Click any links below to read more information.
ADD / ADHD Attention Deficit Disorder / Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
It breaks your heart to watch your child struggle. You’re tired of dealing with the disruptive behavior, their inability to pay attention. Or you, as an adult don’t understand why you can’t focus. What is wrong??? Are years of medication the answer? We don’t think so.
The first thing we will look at will be the patient’s diet, structure is just as important. Some babies coming through the birth canal have stress that is never resolved. A simple fall can throw off the alignment of the spine. Other contributing causes of ADHD are allergies, mold and any chemical toxins. We have seen patients, adults and children, begin to live a more normal life once these contributors are discovered and eliminated.
Allergies
If you suffer from allergies no matter what kind of allergy, you know that it disrupts the life of you and your family. Allergies are painful, annoying and can limit where you can go, what you can eat among other things. Medications and creams don’t solve the problem. Don’t you want to know…what you are allergic to…why you’re allergic…and how you can be allergy free? If you have scoured the websites looking for answers but only found suggestions like “keep your pet outdoors, use HEPA filters, and change your soap.” You may have already done all that and it might help some but you’re ready to find real solutions not just suggestions.
Allergies fall into three categories allergy, sensitivity and Intoleranchormonese. In allergy and sensitivity the immune system responds to substances that are generally not harmful. In Intolerance the body is missing the enzymes needed to break down the proteins and sugars causing a reaction or response. This is usually associated with food such as dairy, gluten and some proteins.
At Center for Advanced Medicine we have found in many cases that when the body is cleansed of toxins and microorganism or the body is aligned and in balance, allergies can be eliminated.
The proper digestive enzyme supplements can help simple food allergies. NAET is also a very effective way to treat allergies as well as acupuncture.
We are an integrated medical center which means that the treatments used to help you are all under one roof and can be monitored to bring you the best results possible.
Please see Allergy under the SERVICES section in this website.
Arthritis
Has your life has become limited because of this disease? Do your joints ache and swell causing simple movements and normal activities to be difficult and painful.
There are over 100 forms of arthritis. These forms of arthritis range from wear and tear of cartilage to an overactive immune system. It is estimated that 58% of people with arthritis are women. There are a growing number of children with this painful disease.
Finding the root cause will be the first step in helping to alleviate the painful symptoms of arthritis. We have found that gluten intolerance is involved in almost all forms of rheumatoid arthritis. Microbes, like mycoplasma are usually present in rheumatoid arthritis. Detoxing your body will be an important part of a treatment as well as structural alignment. Our Osteopath can help open pathways and relieve swelling to begin healing. Chiropractic treatments and massage will be very helpful as well.
This is exactly why we are an integrated medical center. We have the modalities all under one roof in order to monitor the treatment plan, helping to eliminate your arthritis symptoms.
More information is available in the books Surviving the Toxic Crisis and Detox or Disease.
Asthma
It must be frightening when an asthma attack happens. You feel the tightening; you reach for your respirator or medicine wishing you could get some relief… Could there be a cause? Could there be real help?
You live in a world full of “triggers”. You have learned what triggers to avoid. It is written that there is no known cure for asthma. Did you know that 1 out of 3 who suffer from asthma actually have roundworm?
At Center for Advanced Medicine we will help determine if parasites or roundworm are part of your health problem.
We have found mold can be a serious problem for asthmatic patients. We can help treat you for mold. Our doctors work to discover and treat all possible allergens that trigger your asthma.
The treatments may include detox and NAET. But first we will do a complete health history which means going back years to understand what may have set you up for asthma.
Autism
Why is it that over 25 years ago, Autism struck one in 10,000 children and now experts estimate that between 2 – 6 children out of every 1,000 will have autism. Males are four times more likely to have autism than females. What has changed during that time? Newborn babies are given Hepatitis B vaccine within hours of their birth. In 1983, a child received 10 injections before age six but in 2007 the number of injections recommended is 36.
In 1983, the 10 injections against seven diseases included a total of 30 antigens. The child’s body experienced 30 separate stimulations of the immune system from vaccines.
In 2007, the 36 recommended injections contain 116 antigens or almost 4 times as many stimulations of the immune system as in 1983.
Many Children with autism have allergies to wheat, food dyes and dairy. They can also lack healthy oils. We can test for these allergies as well as mold and chemical toxins. It is also very important that the structure is aligned properly and the immune system is strengthened.
We are not saying that immunization is the cause of autism. The CDC is continuing research on the effect of immunizations and autism. Immunization is the decision of the parents and we recommend parents educate themselves on this subject thoroughly. The website www.drugs.com lists the side effects of vaccines and other drugs.
Back Pain
Does back pain affect the quality of your live, limiting activities and even ordinary daily tasks? Simple actions cause you to wince just thinking of trying to pick up the pen you dropped, or wanting to hold your grandchild with outstretched arms.
Maybe medication and/or surgery aren’t the only answers. Before considering surgery it is important to understand the root cause of your pain. The causes can range from a mineral deficiency, or a simple slip and fall to:
- A car accident
- A fall in sports activities such as
- Cheerleading
- Gymnastics or
- Horseback riding
A fall or other body trauma could be recent or it could have happened years ago. We would like to help you discover the root cause and possibly eliminate your back pain.
We will take a thorough health and lifestyle history to help us understand what could be contributing to your pain. Thermography may be recommended by the practitioner. A treatment plan will be established to begin helping you get well. Osteopathic and Chiropractic evaluation are usually involved in cases of back pain and back injury.
Cancer
Did your world stop the day you heard the words “you have cancer”? Did you go home and “Google” the name of your specific cancer?
At the Center for Advanced Medicine we can help support your body by eliminating exposure to and removal of anything that contributes to the cancer. At the same time we can help enhance the body’s own ability to fight the disease.
Your immune system should be as unencumbered and as clean as possible in order to allow it to fight for you.
There are over 5,000 known carcinogens. www.cancer.org lists over 200 of the most commonly known carcinogens. Our goal will be to help you identify these carcinogens, toxic chemicals, undetected infections in order to eliminate them.
Antioxidants help protect us from free radical damage which causes cells to mutate. Cancer does not thrive where high PH, oxygen, heat and low animal fat and sugar levels exist. We know how to balance out mineral levels. We can help identify the carcinogens like heavy metals, mercury, lead, and EMF and in order to stop your exposure to them and eliminate them from your body.
It is important to detox so that the immune system is not hindered in fighting infections, chemicals or allergens as well as other things. Our goal is to free the immune system to concentrate on fighting the cancer. We can help.
Center for Advanced Medicine is not a cancer treatment center. We do not diagnose or treat cancer. We do not have an oncologist on staff. We will support any program you choose for the treatment of cancer. Our expertise is in cleansing the body to help eliminate toxins, to use proper nutrition and supplementation to strengthen the immune systems. One of our treatment goals is to help increase white blood cells as well as red blood cells to minimize anemia.
Additional information is available in the books, Thriving in a Toxic World and Detox or Disease.
Cardiovascular Disease / Blood Pressure High / Low
If your physician has used the words, “Cardiovascular Disease” you may have thought, “What, not me!” He or she probably told you that you have one of several types of Cardiovascular Disease, among them, atherosclerosis, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia or heart valve problems. These words can be pretty scary. Many times, unfortunately, the damage is severe enough that even medication is not enough and/or surgery is your only recourse.
The Center for Advanced Medicine has developed procedures that have helped people with some types of cardiovascular disease to regain a healthier heart without invasive surgery and medication.
Cardiovascular disease describes many conditions that affect the structure or the function of the heart. Cardiovascular disease is associated with high or low blood pressure. There are several things that contribute to this disease. Allergies, inflammation, lack of exercise, diabetes, undetected infections and diet can all contribute to cardiovascular disease and high or low blood pressure. We are equipped to look at each of these areas to help understand and put together a treatment plan to address these problems.
Chronic Fatigue
Chronic Fatigue and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CSF) are often associated with fibromyalgia. Although there are common causes, CFS is a condition of extreme tiredness that is not relieved by rest or sleep. Often depression, weakness and insomnia are symptoms of CFS.
At Center for Advanced Medicine we will take a thorough patient history, looking for triggers that will seem unrelated to the patient’s symptoms.
We look for heavy metals and chemicals in the body.
Other issues we investigate include:
- Microorganisms
- Allergy
- Exposure to mold
- Dental work
- TMJ
- Whiplash from a car accident
- A fall from a sport injury such as cheerleading, gymnastics, ice-skating, football, basketball
We will work to identify the root causes of CFS and create a treatment plan to correct these problems. It is important to do the right thing, the right way at the right time.
Constipation
While laxatives may temporarily relieve the problem, it doesn’t take care of what is causing the constipation. What goes in should come out, and if it doesn’t your body could be telling you something is wrong.
Some patients can experience constipation one day and then diarrhea the next and they struggle having normal bowel movements. Parasites and microbes can be a factor in this health problem.
There can be many reasons why you are suffering from constipation.
Causes may be:
- Inadequate oils
- Not drinking enough water
- The wrong type of fiber
- Skeletal Structure
- Gallbladder
- Mineral deficiency
- Lack of proper probiotics
Chiropractic and medical treatment as well as colonics may be part of helping you with constipation.
Please see Colonic under the SERVICES section in this website.
Depression
It has been said that depression is like standing in a room full of people and there is no air to breath. We understand this is a serious disease that you cannot just “snap out of”. However there is hope!
We have found many contributors to depression. Did you know that mercury is one of the most toxic substances? According to Illinois Department of Public Health mercury can cause immediate health effects including loss of appetite, fatigue, insomnia, and changes in behavior or personality. Many of these are symptoms of depression. Microorganisms such as mold, yeast and fungus also contribute to depression.
Our center is integrated with the modalities and practitioners so that the treatments necessary to help a patient with depression are in one location in order to monitor each phase of the treatment plan.
Diabetes
Learning that you have Type 2 diabetes is not the end of the world. It can be a wake-up call telling you it is time to take better care of yourself. Type 2 is the most treatable type of the three major types of diabetes. The bad news you have Type 2 diabetes. The good news, if you are committed to changing your lifestyle, eating good tasting and nutritional food, the team of doctors and health practitioners at the Center for Advanced Medicine have the expertise to help you change your health.
Type 1 diabetes is less common, striking 1 in 250. It is believed to appear after an exposure to a virus or a toxin that triggers the immune system to mistakenly attack the pancreas. It destroys the beta cells of the pancreas where they can no longer produce sufficient insulin. We are experienced in identifying viruses and toxins and helping you to eliminate these root causes.
Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes women can develop during pregnancy. If you have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes don’t you want treatments that are the safest and most natural for you and your baby?
Center for Advanced Medicine is the right place to be treated with the correct modalities by practitioners that will get to the root cause and will have the safety of you and your baby in mind.
Digestive Problems
Have you had test after test and been given medications that cause more problems than they solve? Have you been told you have colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion or Crohn’s disease with no real solutions? Unfortunately many patients who come to us present symptoms of aching stomach, cramping, diarrhea and weight loss just to name a few. They are frustrated and sometimes angry when there are no answers.
At Center for Advanced Medicine don’t be surprised when our doctors ask you questions that seem unrelated to your symptoms. Questions like:
- Have you had any dental work done recently?
- Do you have amalgam fillings?
- Do you have a cat or dog?
- Were you breast fed?
Experience has shown us that the answer to these and other questions could be the answer to what is really causing your digestive/stomach problems. Many of our patients, who have suffered for many years, have found answers to stomach and problems at the Center for Advanced Medicine.
Fatigue
Fatigue is one of the early warning signs you want to address before it becomes chronic. If within 120 days, you are tired when you awake or you become tired by the mid-afternoon, your fatigue is a warning sign.
We find many of our patients suffer from fatigue especially after eating in the afternoon. Why after eating? This can be from food allergies or in combination with other chronic health concerns. Finding what is causing fatigue and treating it before it turns into a chronic fatigue condition is important.
Additional information is available in the book Thriving in a Toxic World.
Fibromyalgia
If you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia then you know all about the pain, trigger points in your muscles and joints, and the fatigue as well as the chronic pain and stiffness throughout your body. You also know that medications give some relief, but do not solve the root problem.
Have you been handed a prescription, told to change your diet and learn to manage stress?
Would you like to know what could be causing the pain? We can create a treatment plan to follow, and to help you begin the steps to getting well.
At Center for Advanced Medicine we will take a thorough health history, do lab work and detailed diagnostic testing.
- Did you know patients who have fibromyalgia have a neck and bite alignment problem?
- Do you have undetected infections?
- Do you have metals like gold crowns and mercury fillings in your mouth?
- Have you ever been in a car accident or had a fall?
All of these and more can be contributing factors to the symptoms of fibromyalgia. This is why we are an integrated medical center. We have the modalities available in one location to monitor your progress step by step. We know what to do and how to do it to help eliminate the devastating effects of fibromyalgia.
Once again it is important to do the right thing, the right way, at the right time.
Additional information is available in the book Detox or Disease.
Headaches / Migraines
Are you tired of having your life stop, missing family events, important business meetings or college classes because of migraine’s or other types of headaches? Are you frustrated with medication that doesn’t relieve your suffering without unpleasant side effects?
Medications can provide some relief. However they don’t deal with the root cause and they often have their own side effects.
Successfully treating patients who present chronic headaches or migraine headaches is one of the most rewarding things we do. We have treated patients who have suffered for years; some had been on every known medication available. Today many are enjoying their lives headache free.
Our doctors look at a variety of trigger causes. The root causes can be everything from a simple car accident to food or environmental allergies. There are things
you would never associate a headache with such as:
- Microbes in the gallbladder
- Hormones
- Lack of minerals
- TMJ
- Root canal
- Blood sugar swings
At Center for Advanced Medicine these are some of the areas we will consider and establish a treatment plan to help eliminate your headaches and migraines.
Heart Disease
Heart Disease is the number one cause of death in men and women. When we think of heart disease we think of heart attack. However heart disease is present long before the attack takes place. Center for Advanced Medicine can help give you the tools to have a healthier heart. Please see Cardiovascular under this section.
Hepatitis
Hepatitis is a virus that affects the cells in the liver. Many times people have Hepatitis A or Hepatitis B and never know it. Often it can be short-term and does not lead to chronic liver problems.
Hepatitis C is more serious and can cause serious liver damage (sclerosis) and could lead to liver cancer. How severe hepatitis is depends on many factors, including the cause of the liver damage and any illnesses you have. The virus will always be present and can come back and cause liver damage. Many times people don’t know they have Hepatitis C until there is some damage to the liver. However you can learn to manage the disease. That’s where we come in. Our expertise in areas of the use of proper oils, building the immune system, IV therapy and detox can help you manage hepatitis effectively.
Insomnia / Sleep Disorders
Do you have trouble going or staying asleep or both? How many times a night do you wake up…three, five? Do you have trouble getting back to sleep? In order to get the help you need our practitioners need to know the answer to those questions.
Your problem could be as simple as knowing the correct minerals to take. Or it could be a little more complicated such as correcting your structural alignment or knowing which amino acids your body is lacking.
We know how to help balance your minerals and determine if you need to be structurally aligned. Our goal is to help you get a good night’s sleep drug free.
Joint / Muscle Pain
How many doctors have you seen that have no explanation for your joint and muscle pain? Do they give you a prescription, but give you no hope of finding the root cause of your pain? You know something is wrong but no one can tell you what is wrong. Well, this is our specialty.
We will go beyond your aching muscles and tender joints to help find answers to your questions. Would you believe that your pain could be caused by your dental work? If you have a crown in your mouth you could be allergic to the materials in that crown and not even know it. You could have an infection in your mouth and not even feel it. We have found that microbes can cause joint and muscle pain. Proper alignment of the neck and spine can also bring relief.
One of our patients before coming to us had every test you can imagine, with no diagnosis or treatment for her muscle pain. She was still unable to move and bed ridden after months of tests. We found the root cause was a bone infection under a root canal. Once the infection was removed, she regained use of her body, free of muscle pain, and medication free.
Our doctors and practitioners have the expertise to help identify the root cause of many illnesses including joint and muscle pain.
Lupus
If the chemicals, heavy metals or infection are removed the symptoms of lupus normally subside. How would you know if you were inundated with chemicals, heavy metals or infection? We can help determine if you are affected by any one of these.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease. But what does that actually mean to you? Basically the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissue. Lupus can be misdiagnosed the symptoms are similar to MS and Fibromyalgia. Some of these symptoms include:
- Achy joints
- Anxiety, depression, headaches, and memory loss
- Arthritis type symptoms
- Easy bruising
- Fatigue
- Hair loss
- Rashes
- Shortness of breath
- Weight loss or gain
The reason Center for Advanced Medicine is integrated, is for exactly this type of illness. The process of treating lupus can be complex as well as emotional. We have extensive experience in helping patients with autoimmune disease which can be not only physically challenging, but also emotionally difficult for them. We have helped many patients by doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time.
Lyme Disease
Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection caused by a bite from an infected tick. It can be treated with antibiotics if caught early. However if untreated it can cause symptoms like:
- Fatigue
- Joint pain
- Brain Fog
- Numbness in hands and/or feet
- MS type symptoms
- Memory loss
It is very important to be treated early to minimize and hopefully eliminate these symptoms. Treating this infection can include, antibiotics, vitamin c and detox can be helpful to clean the body to strengthen the immune system to fight the infection. If these symptoms persist there may be additional health concerns that need to be considered and treated.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Every day, every hour, someone is being diagnosed with MS. What is MS? What causes the immune system to attack the myelin? Will I have to suffer the rest of my life? Is there a treatment plan that can help me get well? The Center for Advanced Medicine has answers to these questions. We have been helping patients with MS for years regain their lives. One of our practitioners came to us many years ago diagnosed with MS. Today she is symptom free.
What is MS?
Multiple sclerosis, commonly abbreviated MS, is a disease that occurs where the immune system and the nervous system intersect. MS is considered to be an autoimmune disease, where the immune system attacks the myelin, the fatty insulating covering over the tail of the nerve cells that transmit neuronal signals from the brain to muscles and sensory organs. The white matter of the brain and spinal cord is composed mostly of myelin. The good news is that myelin, like many other body tissues, can regenerate!
This immune system attack causes the nerve signal to essentially leak out rather than getting where it is supposed to go, and in addition the electrical signal sent by the nerve can affect other parts of the body. Picture a garden hose, which will represent the central nervous system. The water inside the hose represents the impulse messages being sent to different parts of the body. The hose is the myelin; it acts as an insulator or container of the water. If something attacks the rubber on the hose it causes a leak, sending water all over the place and not where it was intended to go. Get the picture? So the brain can send out the message, “lift your foot and walk,” but the message is delayed or weakened getting to the muscles serving the foot, or the foot can’t lift up enough to clear the ground. Meanwhile, part of the nerve signal goes elsewhere, causing pain, tremor, or other symptoms.
The body manufactures a plaque patch to cover the lesion, which is the hole, irritated spot, or scar on the myelin. These plaques show up on an MRI scan, and are the characteristic that leads to a diagnosis of MS. Some people mistakenly believe that the plaque, the visible part, is what causes the symptoms. Actually, the plaque is the body’s semi-successful attempt to repair the damage. Blaming the plaque patch for the symptoms is like blaming the bandage on a child’s scraped knee for the pain.
What are the symptoms of MS, and why are they so varied?
MS symptoms can affect any part of the body. Some of the most common symptoms are motor difficulties such as trouble walking, weakness, fatigue, vision problems, numbness or tingling, pain, tremor, and difficulty thinking (brain fog).
Each part of the brain and spinal cord serves a different part of the body, and the lesions can occur anywhere on the brain and spinal cord. The types and severity of symptoms can differ greatly between individuals based on the location, size, and number of their particular lesions. Since lesions heal to a certain extent and new ones form, symptoms can change over time for an individual, although without treatment they tend to worsen.
An incurable disease?
The belief is that, for unknown reasons, the immune system goes crazy and without provocation starts attacking the myelin. However the immune system is simply doing what it is supposed to do: identify that which is non-self, not part of the body, and fight it to make it go away. In MS, the nerve cells, which themselves are identified by the immune system as self, have typically been altered just enough to alert the immune system that there is an invader present, and they do what any well-trained army would do in that instance: attack and disable the intruder.
But how would the nerve cells be altered enough to change them from self to non-self and trigger an immune system attack? We have found that any number of trigger substances can attach to nerve cells, changing them just enough to alert the immune system. These triggers include:
- Mercury, a toxic metal found in metal dental fillings (and fluorescent light bulbs), is a major player in the development of MS.
- Chemicals such as pesticides and chemicals in paint and cleaning products are usually stored in fat cells. Remember myelin is made of fatty substance. Once again the immune system goes after the chemical (non-self) but can’t separate it from the myelin (self).
- Microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria, as well as other triggers, can also alter the nerve cells.
- Fungus and yeast can change the chemistry of the body when there is overgrowth. They cause fermentation which produces vinegar, and vinegar breaks down fat.
- Structural (skeletal) problems can contribute to the disease as well, and less than optimal nourishment can leave the body with less than optimal resources for healing.
How can the myelin regenerate?
The key is to figure out your particular triggers, imbalances, and deficiencies. After that, the triggers need to be removed from your environment and your body, your structure brought into balance, and your nutrition optimized. Just like any other body tissues, myelin can regenerate if given a chance, and symptoms can subside.
The first step is to remove the triggers from the environment. This may include changing cleaning products to nontoxic products, or identifying mold exposure. Identifying and removing the triggers from the body is more involved and must be done in the proper order. People can have undetected microorganisms, such as bacterial infections from root canals. Other microorganisms include parasites and fungus. Parasites are more common than you would think. Accurate testing for parasites is critical. Metals like nickel can be found in jewelry and in most metal dental work other than fillings, such as crowns, braces, and posts. The EPA reports serious health concerns regarding exposure to nickel. If mercury, an extremely toxic element has been removed from the teeth it can still be in the body.
Once each of the triggers is removed and the body is cleansed the myelin can begin to regenerate. The doctors and practitioners at Center for Advanced Medicine know what to do and how to do it.
Identify and eliminate the cause of a disease, and to a great extent the disease itself can be eliminated, even a disease such as MS, for which a cure is considered to be impossible.
This groundbreaking approach is much more than theoretical. Practitioners at CAM have had an astounding success rate with those MS patients who follow the recommended protocols. Success in this case can range from a noticeable improvement in symptoms to the stunned statement that “I used to have MS.” And you or someone you care about who has MS can potentially be one of them.
Want more information?
You will be glad to hear that a new book is being released in the fall of 2012, called Back From MS: Five Steps to Reversing Multiple Sclerosis. Written by Dr. Bill Kellas and Dr. Andrea S. Dworkin, coauthors of the Toxic Twins books among others, this book describes in detail the successful approach to reversing MS used at CAM.
Menopause
The uncomfortable symptoms of menopause are warning signs that your body has imbalances because not everyone in menopause experiences those symptoms.
Some traditional treatments include Hormone therapy. However did you know that when the ovaries reduce the production of estrogen, the adrenals in a healthy person will produce enough estrogen to balance out their hormones? This is why it is so important to know what is going on in your body and not just jump into hormone therapy.
Although menopause is a natural “rite of passage” that women will experience, it’s important to remember it will end. The right treatment for the symptoms of menopause can often be minimized or eliminated. You’re not alone and there is help available. The symptoms of menopause can be as different and unique as each woman. They may last 3 or more years. Some women don’t experience any symptoms while others may have symptoms that make their life very difficult.
It’s important that your doctor know your entire medical history before prescribing hormone therapy (HT). Several major studies have indicated that there may be risks with hormone therapy. These risks include developing breast cancer, heart attacks, strokes, and even blood clots.
Our doctors know when and when not to use hormone therapy. A treatment plan for reducing menopause symptoms may include an eight day detox, adrenal support as well as other modalities. Learn about the options the Center for Advanced Medicine offers that do not involve taking hormones.
Please see Hormones under the SERVICES section in this website.
Pain
Pain is an early warning sign that your body is telling you something is wrong!
The American Chronic Pain Association estimates that 86 million people in the United States suffer from some sort of chronic pain. Did you know that 28 billion doses of acetaminophen per year are sold in the United States? These drugs can cause serious liver damage. Wouldn’t you like to know the source of your pain and begin to take steps to end or minimize the pain you suffer?
The doctors and practitioners at Center for Advanced Medicine will take a thorough health history. They will consider things that seem unrelated to your pain. They will understand where the pain is located and what type of pain you have. We know that because the body is so interconnected one area can affect another area causing referred pain.
We had a patient who suffered for years from pain in his thumb. It was so bad he had trouble holding anything. Our doctors discovered he had a root canal abscess in his mouth. He was very very skeptical, but he went to the dentist anyway. The tooth was removed and he said “within seconds the pain was completely gone.” Today he is completely pain free. We hope your story can be that simple.
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)
Premenstrual Syndrome is an early warning sign that hormones are out of balance.
Premenstrual Syndrome affects women at all different levels. It could be simple bloating to severe mood swings and painful pelvic cramps. There are ways to address and hopefully minimize the symptoms of PMS.
Our doctors and practitioners have found that patients with PMS can be low in magnesium and vitamin B6. They will look at the body as a whole and establish a treatment plan that will help address the symptoms of PMS. These may include:
- Using specific oils in your diet to help balance hormones naturally.
- Our 8 day cleanse
- A specific nutritional program
- Balance hormones
- Establishing proper supplement program
Our doctors and practitioners work to discover why your hormones are out of balance in the first place. Our goal is helping eliminate and minimize PMS symptoms.
Skin Problems: Psoriasis Rashes Eczema
Is your skin itchy, dry, scaly, burning, or do you have blisters with no explanation? Have you tried creams and lotions, or eliminated foods with no success?
According to the CDC in 2005 doctors who were prescribing 2 skin creams, were warned to “prescribe with caution” due to concerns over possible cancer risks associated with their use.
Medical experts say there is no known cause for eczema. However many of our patients who have struggled with skin problems like eczema and psoriasis no longer suffer the embarrassing and uncomfortable skin eruptions. At Center for Advanced Medicine we know there is a deeper problem that must be addressed first. Your skin is a reflection of what is going on inside, particularly the liver. It can be an early warning sign of liver problems. Many skin conditions are actually related to a toxic liver. Poor digestion of oils and a sluggish gallbladder are considered when dealing with skin problems. We know the correct way to treat these problems to help you have the most radiant skin possible.
Additional information is available in the book Detox or Disease.
Vascular Disease
You could have vascular disease and not know it. Vascular disease is the caboose on a long train of other problems. It is a very serious condition because it can lead to stroke and heart attack.
Vascular disease is any condition that affects the circulatory system like peripheral artery disease or atherosclerosis. This is a disease of the arteries which carry oxygen and nutrient-rich blood from the heart to the organs and cells. The arteries become blocked by a fatty build up in the artery. It becomes difficult to get enough blood and oxygen to the organs and cells. This can cause pain or cold feet but many times there are no symptoms.
You are at serious risk if you are:
- Overweight
- Over 50 years old
- Inactive
- Smoker
Or have any of the following:
- Allergies
- Tooth infections
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol or LDL
- Microorganisms
- Diabetes
The Doctors will help you discover if you have vascular disease. They will use detox to help clean your system and possibly chelation to help clean the arteries. They will also look at other health issues you may have to help establish a healthy lifestyle.
Weight Problems
Have you gained weight and had difficulty losing the weight? Have you lost weight and you didn’t need to?
Weight gain or loss can be early warning signs of a variety of health issues. Maybe you have toxins building up in you and that is causing difficulty in losing weight. Hormone imbalance can contribute weight problems.
Our doctors and practitioners are sensitive and knowledgeable on finding the root cause of weight problems. We have a Wellness Coach on staff who can help you understand emotions tied to weight gain or weight loss.
